
Spiced Chestnuts

INGREDIENTS
- 3/4 pound (approximately 15) chestnuts, raw
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon coriander
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon cumin
- 1 packet Born Sweet Zing™ Organic Stevia Sweetener - Zero Calories
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 1/2 tablespoons butter
INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat oven to 350°F. Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
Cut an X into the flat side of each chestnut. Place chestnuts on baking sheet. Roast 25 to 30 minutes. Cool slightly; peel while still warm.
Cut each peeled chestnut in half; set aside.
Combine spices in a large bowl and set aside.
Preheat oven to 250°F.
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine Born Sweet Zing™, water and butter. Heat to a low boil. Turn off heat; add chestnuts and stir to fully cover with butter mixture.
When chestnuts are fully covered, remove chestnuts and add to bowl with spice mixture. Toss to coat.
Place nuts in a single layer on prepared baking sheet.
Warm chestnuts in oven 10 to 15 minutes.
Store in a cool, dry place up to 3 days.
