Skinny Pumpkin Spice Chai Latte

This skinny pumpkin pie-inspired latte is so light that you can probably burn it off walking at work.

INGREDIENTS

  • 3 cups water
  • 1 star anise
  • 2 Chai tea bags
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin spice
  • 6 tablespoons canned pumpkin
  • 2 packets Born Sweet Zing™ Organic Stevia Sweetener - Zero Calories
  • 1/2 cup 2% milk

Skinny Pumpkin Spice Chai Latte

INSTRUCTIONS

In a small saucepan, add water and bring to a simmer. Add in star anise and. tea bags. Stir and simmer for one minute.

Remove tea bags and anise; discard. Add milk, vanilla, pumpkin spice and pumpkin; mix together. Bring back to a low simmer.

Remove from heat. Add Born Sweet Zing™ Organic Stevia Sweetener packets and briskly stir tea with wire whisk to create a bubble foam.

Pour latte into serving mugs. Using a spoon, top latte with frothed milk.

To make frothed milk: Add 1/2 cup of milk into an 8 oz. microwaveable jar with lid. (Lid will not be put into microwave.) Secure jar with the lid and shake vigorously, about 30 to 60 seconds, until froth is formed. Remove lid and microwave on high 20 to 30 seconds. (Watch that it does not overflow.) Serve over latte immediately.

CHEF'S TIP

You can increase or decrease amount of milk depending on how much you will be needing, however, when filling jar always allow at least half of the jar to create foam. Skim milk can also be used for creating foam.
