Pear Heart Tartlets
6 individual pear tartlets
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon Born Sweet Zing™ Baking Blend
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 cup canola oil
- 3 tablespoons non-fat Greek yogurt
- 1 large egg white
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 pears, peeled and cored
- 2 to 3 tablespoons water
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon Born Sweet Zing™ Zero Calorie Stevia Sweetener
Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
Combine dry ingredients in medium bowl.
In small bowl, whisk together oil, yogurt, egg white and vanilla. Using your hands, add oil mixture to flour mixture to form dough. Roll out dough and cut out six 3-1/2” heart shapes with a cookie cutter. Roll remaining dough into 6 equal lengths.
Place heart-shaped dough onto prepared baking sheet. Brush with egg wash. Place the roll of dough along the edge of the heart shape and brush with egg wash. Press down lightly to seal.
Peel and core 2 pears. Cut into cubes and place in pan with water. Cover and cook on low heat 10 to 15 minutes. Check after 5 minutes and add more water, if needed.
When a fork passes through the pears easily, remove pan from heat and allow pear cubes to cool. Once cooled, add cooked pears, cinnamon and Born Sweet Zing™ Zero Calorie Stevia Sweetener to blender. Blend until smooth.
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Fill each heart-shaped tart with 1 heaping tablespoon pear sauce. Slice remaining 2 pears into thin slices and arrange on top of sauce.
Bake 20 to 25 minutes, until the pie crust is golden brown. Remove from oven, cool slightly and serve. Store in refrigerator if not serving immediately.
