Lavender Lemonade

Fragrant and beautiful, this gourmet berry lemonade is sure to impress even the classiest crowd.

INGREDIENTS

Lavender Lemonade

  • 1/2 cup (4 oz.) blueberry juice (recipe below)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/2 tablespoon lavender water (recipe below)
  • 1 packet Born Sweet Zing™ Organic Stevia Sweetener - Zero Calories
  • 1 cup ice
  • 3/4 cup (6 oz.) sparkling water

Fresh Blueberry Juice

  • 12 to 16 ounces frozen blueberries
  • 1 1/2 cups water

Lavender Water

  • 1 tablespoon dried lavender
  • 1 cup hot water

INSTRUCTIONS

Lavender Lemonade

Add blueberry juice, lemon juice, lavender water and Born Sweet ZingTM  Organic Stevia Sweetener to a 12 to 16 ounce glass and stir. Add ice and then add in the sparkling water to fill the glass. 

Fresh Blueberry Juice

Place the blueberries and water in a saucepot. Cook over medium heat until the berries begin to split. Turn down the heat to a low setting. Using a masher, mash the berries for 1 minute. Pour the cooked mashed berries through a fine mesh strainer and press the juice out. Discard the blueberry pulp. Store juice in the refrigerator in a tightly sealed jar for 7 to 10 days.

Yield: 2 cups

Lavender Water

Using the flower of a lavender plant, add dried lavender to hot water. Steep for as little as one hour or as much as overnight. Strain the blooms and discard. Lavender water can be stored in a tightly sealed jar for 10 to 14 days.

Yield: 1 cup

CHEF'S TIP

Lavender blooms can be found in any health food store.


One half of a small lemon will yield 1+ tablespoons of juice. Roll lemon on flat surface before juicing. This will yield more juice.
