Green Tea Granita

Combine the best of sweet summer teas and refreshing frozen treats in one antioxidant-packed dessert.

INGREDIENTS

Granita

  • 2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon Matcha green tea powder
  • 2 teaspoons canned unsweetened coconut milk
  • 2 packets Born Sweet Zing™ Organic Stevia Sweetener - Zero Calories

Coconut Cream Topping

  • 1/4 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup canned unsweetened coconut milk
  • 1 to 2 drops coconut extract

INSTRUCTIONS

Granita

Fill a 16-ounce jar with water and Matcha green tea powder. Shake or stir to mix. Stir in the coconut milk and Born Sweet Zing™ Organic Stevia Sweetener

Transfer mixture to a covered container (not glass) and put in the freezer. Check after an hour, scrape with fork and continue to scrape every 30 minutes until all of the “tea” has become icy crystals. Spoon into dessert cups.

Coconut Cream Topping

Whisk cornstarch and coconut milk together in small saucepot. Whisk and heat until mixture boils and thickens. Remove from heat and whisk in extract. Cool or chill until ready to serve. Makes about 3 tablespoons. Spoon 1 1/2 tablespoons of coconut cream over each bowl full of granita. 
 

CHEF'S TIP

Chill your dessert dishes before filling with the granita. If not serving that day, remove frozen granita 15 to 20 minutes before serving. Stir up icy crystals before serving.
