INGREDIENTS

Ancient Fruit Preserves

  • 1/2 cup (5 whole) dried figs, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons raisins
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened pomegranate juice
  • 2 packets Born Sweet Zing™ Organic Stevia Sweetener - Zero Calories

Cheese Toast

  • 4 pieces (about 1/2 ounce per piece) Holland Rusk Toast or 1 ounce other toasted bread or crackers
  • 4 tablespoons Neufchatel cheese, softened
  • 6 tablespoons (1 1/4 tablespoons per portion) Ancient Fruit Preserves

INSTRUCTIONS

Ancient Fruit Preserves

Combine figs, raisins and juice in 1 quart saucepot and heat over medium heat, stirring, until mixture comes to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, covered, 15 minutes or until fruits are soft and almost all liquid is absorbed. Allow preserves to cool to room temperature.

Mash fruit with the back of a fork or in a food processor and stir in Born Sweet Zing™ Organic Stevia Sweetener.

Cheese Toast

Spread 1 tablespoon Neufchatel cheese on each piece of toast. Top with Ancient Fruit Preserves.

Embellish these toasts with thin slivers of fresh apple or pear, prosciutto or toasted almonds for a heartier snack or appetizer.
