Blueberry Slushie

Blueberry Slushie

With blueberries, water and the right touch of sweetness, you can have a refreshing slushie that's low in calories. Make extra and freeze it for a pre-made post-workout treat.

YIELDS

8 (1/2 cup) servings

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 pound fresh blueberries, cleaned and stems removed
  • 1/3 cup Born Sweet Zing™ Baking Blend
  • 2 cups water

INSTRUCTIONS

Place blueberries and Born Sweet Zing™ Baking Blend in a food processor and pulse for 30 seconds.

Transfer mixture into a large pitcher. Add water and mix well. Divide into two gallon-sized heavy duty resealable bags. Place bags in the freezer. Be sure to keep the liquid flat to make it easy to break apart after freezing.

Once frozen, remove and break apart. Pour contents into food processor and pulse until mixture is puréed, about 1 minute. For a softer consistency, sprinkle some water and pulse again. Scoop and serve.

CHEF'S TIP

Any unused portion can be placed in an airtight container and returned to the freezer. To reach a softer consistency, process again before serving or allow to sit at room temperature to defrost slightly.
